Guided tours for individuals (fewer than 12 people)

Every year, CERN welcomes almost 100 000 visitors from all over the world, who come to learn about its installations from our official guides.
Guided tours of CERN are free of charge.

A tour is considered to be a tour for individuals when up to seven people take part.
For larger groups, please see the Guided tours for groups page.
For school trips, please see the Guided tours for schools page.

A tour for individuals offers an introduction to CERN, allowing visitors to discover the Laboratory’s history as well as the latest scientific developments. The tour consists of a visit to a historic area of CERN and to the operational centre of one of the experiments. Immersive audio-visual presentations supplement the information provided by the tour guide. Tours are given in either English or French and last around two hours. You will be put grouped with other visitors who have requested the same language, up to a maximum of 24 people per guide.

Please note that it is not currently possible to visit the underground installations.

For safety reasons, only those aged 13 years and over may visit the CERN sites.

CERN can be reached using the TPG public transport system (Bus Y or Tram 18 – ‘CERN' stop).
